The handle of the Laguiole knife can be shaped from a variety of materials

The most traditional handles are made of wood, horn or bon, the rarer ones from mother of pearl, coral, ivory and even mammoth tooth. The knife with a rosewood handle (below) is particularly elegant. After the initial cutting in the sawing workshop, each side is adjusted perfectly to fit between the two bolsters. For Forge de Laguiole, such precision is a sign of our commitment to quality.
